What is Hyperliquid node hosting?
Hyperliquid is an on-chain exchange for perpetual futures and spot crypto trading, built around its own order book, HyperCore, alongside a general-purpose smart contract layer, HyperEVM. To read that order book and act on it in real time, a trading platform needs to connect to a Hyperliquid node — a piece of infrastructure that stays continuously synced with the network.
There are two kinds of node. A validator node takes part in Hyperliquid's consensus process and stakes HYPE to do so. A non-validating node does not — it simply reads the full order book and market data, which is all a broker or trading firm actually needs for connectivity. Running either is not a small undertaking: Hyperliquid's own documentation specifies 16 vCPUs, 128GB of RAM and 500GB of SSD storage for a non-validating node, rising to 32 vCPUs and 1TB of storage for a validator, with best performance coming from hosting the node in Asia to keep latency low.
